The down of Burlington, Wisconsin will be commissioned to build a Burlington Railroad, to connect to Chicago, Canada, ,Milwaukee,Kenosha, and Racine. We can have a nice historical civil war memorial and a LUCRATIVE Train stop Business.See the original Burlington Railroad station at the end of Origin St. and Commerce street, now called Pine Street(Commerce St). Down by the new condominium development (behind it) could be A civil war monument. There is another historical depot location on the R&R tracks on McHenry St. in Burlington,Wisconsin.
The underground railroad also ended here in Civil war USA, Burlington, Wisconsin, The freedom trail for slaves in the late 1800's. Burlington Wisconsin was a town of Lynchers and Abolitionist.
The current NAPA store in Burlington, Wisconsin still has a lynching room intact. Without Burlington, Wisconsin , there would not have been a way out of the USA ,for the United States slaves. If we apply for a transportation grant we also open ourselves up for EMI, NPS, and HPC . We can build a a historic hotel for a civil war tourist attraction. We could sponsor world wide veteran's events. The city of Burlington, Wisconsin could plan, "GOING GREEN" seminars.
Burlington, Wisconsin would be one of the few self supporting communities in the Nation.

The first railroad to pass through Burlington was built in 1855 by the Racine, Janesville and Mississippi Railroad Company. Its construction nearly bankrupted Racine. The line was later reorganized as the Western Union Railroad and eventually incorporated into the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad Company, .[32] (better known as the Milwaukee Road) On the Milwaukee Road, this line was referred to as the "Racine Southwestern" Division and is often referred to as the "Southwestern" Line.
In 1856, Burlington invested in the Fox River Valley Railroad of Wisconsin, a planned railroad that would have started in Milwaukee, connected to the railroad already in Burlington, and continued on to the Fox River Valley Railroad of Illinois. The roadbed was built, but because of the failure of the company, rails were never laid.[32]
The railroad currently operating through Burlington was constructed in 1885-1886 by the Wisconsin Central Railway. The Wisconsin Central was acquired by the Minneapolis St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railway in 1908, and later merged with the Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic Railway in 1961 to create the Soo Line Railroad.
The Milwaukee Road operated its last train west of Burlington in 1982. In 1985 the Soo Line purchased what remained of the Milwaukee Road, and reorganized their existing line through Burlington as a part of a new subsidiary known as Lakes States Transportation Division in 1986. Lakes States did not achieve the cost savings that the Soo
